Call for Abstracts, Short Courses, & Field Trips

The Organizing Committee is pleased to announce that Mine Water Solutions 2025 is returning June 16-18, 2025, Vancouver, BC. This will be the fifth event in the conference series and will be focused on the central theme of “Proactive Water Management”.

We are looking for innovative and creative approaches to the following proposed conference topics:

Share your research with the global mine water community!

The conference committee encourages a diversity of voices and disciplines across all levels of the conference including authors, speakers, and conference participants. This will be an exciting opportunity to share ideas, learn about innovative approaches, make contacts, and discuss approaches to issues of mutual interest.

We invite you to submit an abstract for a paper to be presented at Mine Water Solutions 2025.

Mine water practitioners are encouraged to share and showcase their research, design, equipment, engineering, operation, and closure activities with the global mine water community. All accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings.

Please include the following elements:

  1. Title (maximum 100 characters)
  2. Authors (name, email, affiliation, and country)
  3. Abstract (300-500 words)
  4. Brief biography of the lead author

Short Courses/ Workshops Submission Information Expand

The Committee invites proposals for Short Courses and Workshops to be held at Mine Water Solutions 2025. Please submit your completed proposal to: info@mineconferences.com.

Proposals are due by Wednesday, December 19, 2024. Note that the number of courses available in 2025 will be limited. Ideally, the short courses and workshops should align with one or more of the topics listed above, encourage industry collaboration (e.g., involving owners, designers, academics, regulators, etc.), and include case histories.

The Committee is accepting proposals for:

  • Short course/workshop leads (to coordinate and facilitate the course)
  • Collaborators (to contribute to a course)

    • Course duration (4 hours or 8 hours)
    • Short summary suitable for the conference website
    • Detailed proposal

Field Trip Submission Information Expand

The Committee invites proposals for field trips to be held during the Mine Water Solutions 2025 Conference in Vancouver, Canada. Field trips provide participants the opportunity to explore the local area and experience firsthand the developments and practices discussed in the conference program. Organizers are responsible for the delivery and logistics of their proposed trips.

Please include the following in your proposal:
  • Trip Title
  • Trip Overview (250 words max.)
  • Equipment and Attire (List any required equipment and recommended attire)
  • Chronological List of times and places for the trip
  • Directions to and from the field trip site
  • Trip Type (Day trip or overnight)
  • Lead Organizer (Required; name, institution, and email)
  • Co-Organizers (Optional; name, institution, and email for each)
  • Mobile Number for the lead organizer (for emergency contact during the trip)
  • Maximum Number of Participants
  • Anticipated Equipment Needs
  • Outside Funding (If applicable, include details about funding to cover any fees, including contact and contribution amount)

Important Notes:
  • Ensure that your field trip aligns with the themes of Mine Water Solutions 2025.
  • Proposals should be submitted as soon as possible to ensure a spot in the program.
  • Include all relevant logistical details to assist in planning and participant registration.
