Call for Abstracts & Short Courses

The Organizing Committee is pleased to announce that Mine Water Solutions 2027 is returning May 10 – 12, 2027, to Vancouver, BC. This will be the sixth event in the conference series.

We are looking for innovative and creative approaches to the following proposed conference topics:

Field equipment at a mine water site
Conference presentation
Conference networking

Proposed conference topics

Biomining

Climate Risk and Resilience

Closure Water Management

Communities and Water Stewardship

Groundwater Management

Mine Water Characterization

Mitigation Techniques

Monitoring, Modelling, and Prediction

Submit your abstract

The conference committee encourages a diversity of voices and disciplines across all levels of the conference including authors, speakers, and conference participants. This will be an exciting opportunity to share ideas, learn about innovative approaches, make contacts, and discuss approaches to issues of mutual interest.

We invite you to submit an abstract for a paper to be presented at Mine Water Solutions 2027. Mine water practitioners are encouraged to share and showcase their research, design, equipment, engineering, operation, and closure activities with the global mine water community. All accepted papers will be included in the conference proceedings.

Paper submission process

The call for abstracts is the first step in the technical paper submission process.

Abstract submissions will be reviewed by the technical committee, appointed by the organizing committee.

If an abstract is accepted, authors will be invited to submit a draft paper for review.

Authors of successful draft paper submissions will be invited to submit a final paper.

A final paper submission must be approved by the Organizing Committee to be included in the conference proceedings.

Successful authors will be required to deliver either an in-person oral presentation or a poster presentation at the conference. Each presentation must be associated with a unique, fully paid registration.

Please note

Registrations completed using a sponsor or exhibitor discount code are not eligible to meet the presentation registration requirement.

  • 3Abstract (300–500 words)
  • 4Brief biography of the presenting author

Short courses & workshops

Proposal template

  • Title (maximum 100 characters)
  • Lead presenter — name, email, affiliation, country, and short biography
  • Co-presenters — name, email, affiliation, country, and short biography
  • Proposal details:
    • Course duration (4 hours or 8 hours)
    • Short summary for the conference website (max 200 words)
    • Course objectives
    • Detailed proposal
